I’d definitely be interested if your thinking of up near Parry Sound way, I’ve got some spots I’m dying to test out, but not on my own ( don’t want to be dying for real  ;D ).

From my experience the fishery is pretty unpressuered so first ice isn't as critical

Just got back from a cruise down south. So let's watch the ice and keep in touch here and hopefully we can all get out together a few times for some Gbay laker action.

I would be very interested in the giants tomb area .A good friend of mine and myself plan to target that area as soon as the ice is a go. A local I know will be checking the ice around that area this weekend and will report back to me .

Yes the tomb area, sawlog and awenda are areas I'd like to try as well.
If we get solid ice around the islands then beckwith would be a fun mission.

Please let us know what they find. I understand there is a lot of deep slush at the gap.

Still open some open water at Cedar Point ferry dock last weekend. Wind is blowing pack ice around. The ferry is still running to Christian Island and breaking ice. Another good cold snap and it should be locked up. Might even get out to the islands this year. Fingers crossed... ;)

im a little late on this post but im in! I was out yesterday and got sick of the dink perch and was going to head out towards the tomb and then my graph died. I know lots of people are riding out that way now so it shouldn't be long!

Im curious how much ice they're running on?  i dont trust the ice yet to go exploring but i think a good place to start would be the Hole.  I think the Hole is much like Owen Sound in terms of structure and any chance of hooking into a slamon might be there.  Another few weeks for me i think especially with the warm spell approaching for this weekend.

Next time im out I will pack the auger and drill some holes. I would like to wait another few weeks aswell just to be sure. Im heading north fishing this weekend and the weekend after that is spoke for so im thinking the weekend after would be a good time to explore. Surely it will be good by then! I will ask around and see if any of my friends have first hand info on what the conditions a like out by the tomb
