Hey Searcher.....was able to make it to the cottage on the weekend.  Saturday morning the staked line from Penetang to Beausoliel was great....as was most of HH.  Did the main channel to Deer island portage on Saturday and Sunday....Deer island side opened up Monday.  Did what you recommended on Monday...Mermaid island, then into south bay near the old school house, then the charlies cut portage.
Staked line back in to Penetang on Monday was 75% slush....deep and a mess.  It will be all done in the area for this winter....open water in several places.

Has anyone been out on the Bay lately? With all this cold weather surely things have tightened up again? Im dying to get out for one more ride!!

If youre talking Hogs Bay between Port McNicoll and Victoria Harbour, its okay. Theres a few inches of white ice and depending where you are, I saw between 1-3 inches of good black ice. Two of our holes had about 6 inches of white ice and that was it. Be safe.
