Fish on the pool this past week-end. I typically don't take a camera on the boat with me, bad carma, this time a buddy snapped a couple pics at the end of the day. Too bad we weighed and released our Bass without a picture but I did get this one from a buddy.

If you haven't been out there yet I highly recommend you do!

Right on man!  Are those big pike for that lake, or would you say they are average sized?

My family has a cottage on 6-Mile, and there is some decent pike in there too, but the average size seems to be a little smaller (unless you got really long arms Tongue)

better than average fish for the pool. I caught those 2 back to back in a big fish spot I know. 30"ers Most will come in around the 24-26"mark.

notice how they are held closer to the camera to make them look big? tricks of the trade lol

That's your first post on this board?  Awkward way to start out here..

I hit up G-pool last weekend for the first time.

Your right Rob, it is a decent little lake.  Tons of boat traffic, and a little to many other anglers for me liking.  But it’s close to home, and the fishing was good.

I found the Pike bite died right off around 8:30 – 9:00am.  But from 7 to 8:30, I boated 5 pike and 2 bass.  So I’m not complaining!

Thanks for noticing reel obsessed. Of course we went for the "tournament pose" makes for a better picture, besides it's the pretty fish we all want to see not my ugly mug.LOL.
Not trying to say these are 36" or 40" fish but back to back 31" and 32" fish are quality catches on any body of water.

Big Bad Bravo, the pool can be extremely busy on the weekends. If you search around you can find some quieter back bays or lakes to fish without the traffic. Up Go home bay and under the 400 you have access to  Baxter lake.

Can you get a boat thru there, under the highway into Baxter?

I've always wondered that, but have never actually stopped there and had a look for myself.

That is a great feature about G-Pool.  You have access to several other small lakes / channels.  Lots of water to cover.
