We got out yesterday, beautiful weather out there.
Launched at the marina in wasaga and had a bad start with backing in too far and getting trailer hung up on ramp. Warning if you go there, ramp is very short with a big drop off the back. Can’t see it due to low water visibility.
Finally started fishing around 10 am, fished 10- 4 and went 0/2. Tried leadcore, planer/leadcore and riggers. All pulling NK spoons. Both hits came on the rigger, one 40 ft down over 70 fow the other near bottom in 65 ish. Fished from 50-110. First fish was a good salmon , only on for a few seconds. Second was a shaker, lost at the net.
It was great to be out working out the gear kinks and just enjoying the beautiful bay. Looking forward to a good season, my son is eager to go back and get those fish!! He was heartbroken at the losses but that’s the learning journey of a new fisherman.
