Crappie Saturday
« on: January 12, 2013, 08:59:09 pm »
Got out today with some friends and a board member Tundra Roy for some last ice crappie action. It was a warm, slightly breezy mid January morning. 2-6" of water on the ice. The snow was gone but the ice held up well. 4-5"blue and a bit of white. Started off quick with steady action and died around 1:00pm. Easy 100+ crappie caught avg. 9.5" Nice to meet you Roy.

Are you guys planning on going out tomorrow?  I was thinking either Southbay or checking conditions for my spot on G'pool.

If we crushed with snow tonight, then we'll probably just go to the gloucester tomorrow.

I am going somewhere Sunday morning for a few hours.

Some buddies mentioned Tea Lake.  But I've never fished it before.

If anyone is going to Vic Harb, or the general area.  Let me know.

Havent been to Tea Lake, but I know it's where abouts.  Will probably end up somewhere in the severn area on Sunday.  Anyone else?

Tea is fun lake to fish. Too far of a walk for my liking.

I drive by Tea Lake all the time when going to Big Chute, never fished it before.   What's in there?  I'm assuming bass/pike/crappie?

Appreciate the info Rob, I assumed it would have similar fish to what the Severn has in it.   Might have to give it a go this winter!  Nice and close.

It's a long way down to the deeper hole at the bottom.

Yeah, I've looked at the hydro charts for it..   After this week of cold weather it should have more then enough ice for the sled...
