In the town of coldwater there are a few spots. The boat launch and up to the main intersection is all accessible but might still be iced over

That is incorrect it is only open downstream of moonstone which is north not south.

Just remember that if you happen to get any brookies N of Moonstone Rd (there is the odd one around) you have to release them since it's part of FMZ 14 and they do not have an open season at all. Good luck on the river!  8)

Hello and good day to all fisher-persons out there.
With all this COVID-19 pandemic going on, can anyone tell me if we're allowed fishing in the rivers.
I'm hoping to drop my boat in at the town of Coldwater launch, then fish downstream of Moonstone.
any info would be greatly appreciated.
stay safe everyone.

I hope you have a small boat the river is  shallow in spots. You will only be able to go downriver from the boat launch

Thanks Samasquach, i have a 12 foot car topper, and fishing kayak available to me.
What about river bank access south of Moonstone?
Personally i only know Bow spots on the Notty.
Never fished the Coldwater.
Thanks again for your intel.

Down river only from the launch. Beautiful stretch of river.  I suggest casting spoons or body baits. with the high water the river is really wide now and locating those perfect drifts isnít easy plus itís slow moving. Option of trolling too.
As for drifting the river with roe or worms, very effective but lots of snags and I mean lots. If you want to be good at re-tying your leaders, hooks, etc, that is the place to practice.  We renamed it re-tie river. Every 10 drifts we broke off.
Mind you we take chances when we drift, you usually have to if you watch to catch a fish. Lots of walking to find the right spots but they are there.

Krawler is right so many snags..... I perfected a few knots when I started fishing that river!
