3 Days 3 Lakes 3 Species
« on: January 16, 2012, 08:04:11 am »
Was out on the ice for the first time this week-end but unfortunately it wasn't Georgian Bay.
I was invited to participate in Hooked Young's Best Fishermen series pilot video.
We filmed on Penn. Lake, Lake of Bays and a small Pike Pond called Penfold Lake.
Ice was 5" on Pennisula Lake in Huntsville, Main Lake of LOB is still open, we fished a back bay with about 7" of ice. Penfold had varying ice. One hole was 7" of white crap ice and another hole had 8" of blue ice and so it went. We were fishing a river mouth.
Fishing was tough I managed to ice 3 lakers 1 perch and 2 pike all week-end and 2nd place.
I'll post a link to National Pro Staff when Tom makes a report and when I receive the trailers.

Sounds like a good weekend.

The perch were active on Couch and Simcoe is freezing so just a matter of time now. I'm heading to Pointe au Baril to write a story this week then off to Nipissing and then Quinte. Hopefully the sound will harden up soon. I might skip Quinte.
